CIM Forum in Kotor: The Mediterranean Still Knows How to Talk

[object Object]

Last night, Kotor smelled of the sea, wine, and long conversations that do not end after the first drink. In the stone labyrinth of the Old Town, the fifth anniversary edition of the CIM Forum opened - a regional festival of creative industries and media that, over the years, has evolved into far more than a traditional conference.

Under this year’s theme, “Alchemy of Creation,” CIM once again brought together media, art, communications, culture, and people who still believe that the best ideas are created in real life - somewhere between eye contact, conversation, and the atmosphere of a city.

But the real energy of the evening did not come from the stage.

It came from Kotor itself. From the narrow stone streets where languages from across the region blend, from glasses refilled more slowly than the conversations surrounding them, and from that distinct Boka Bay ease of life that has become almost impossible to find in a world obsessed with speed.

The organizers captured that atmosphere best in their post after the opening night:

We opened the Forum the right way - with good food, even better conversation, and a crowd that brought true Boka fjaka and charm.”

And truly, the CIM Forum feels different from most regional events.

At a time when many conferences resemble a race for attention and LinkedIn visibility, CIM increasingly feels like a Mediterranean gathering of people who understand that creativity is not born under spotlights, but between genuine conversations and spontaneous encounters.

Over the next few days, Kotor will become a large open stage for panels, workshops, exhibitions, and discussions connecting creative industries, technology, media, art, and culture. This year’s edition also includes a UNESCO networking event, international exhibitions, and the most ambitious program framework so far.

But the greatest value of CIM lies in the fact that it does not try to escape the Mediterranean spirit. Quite the opposite.

Here, people still believe that serious ideas can emerge over a glass of wine. That conversations do not need a strict ending time. And that the best events are often remembered not only for the panels, but for the atmosphere of the city itself.

And Kotor creates evenings like that better than almost anywhere else on the Adriatic.
