Science Shaping the Future: Dr Staša Stanković Arrives at the CIM Forum in Kotor

There are people whose work does not change just one field, but the way we imagine the future itself. One such name is arriving in Kotor this May. At the fifth anniversary edition of the CIM Forum - Festival of Creative Industries and Media, taking place from May 28 to 31, guests will have the opportunity to hear Dr Staša Stanković, one of the most promising scientists of the new generation in biotechnology, genomic medicine, and artificial intelligence.

Her appearance will be one of the highlights of this year’s program and further confirms the CIM Forum's ambition to transform Kotor each year into a meeting point for ideas shaping the modern world - from creative industries and media to science, technology, and medicine.

In partnership with AstraZeneca, this year’s CIM Forum will open discussions on topics increasingly defining the quality of modern life: mental health, medical innovation, the development of artificial intelligence, the future of healthcare, and responsible communication in an era of rapid technological change.

Science, Technology, and Women’s Health

Dr Staša Stanković is currently pursuing a PhD in Genomic Medicine at the University of Cambridge, where she develops predictive tools and new therapeutic approaches focused on advancing women’s reproductive health.

Her research has been published in some of the world’s most prestigious scientific journals, including Nature, Science, and Nature Medicine, while her work has been recognized as one of the most influential in the fields of women’s health innovation and menopause research.

What makes Dr Stanković particularly fascinating is that she belongs to a new generation of scientists who no longer view medicine separately from technology. The combination of biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and modern medicine is now opening space for therapies and diagnostic systems that could transform the lives of millions of people in the coming years.

Forbes, Cambridge, and International Recognition

Among the many awards she has received are the “McKinsey & Company Next Generation Women Leader” award, the International Menopause Society’s “Robert Greenblatt Award” for the best young researcher under the age of 40, as well as the UK Government’s “STEM for Britain” recognition, where she was named among the ten most promising young biomedical scientists.

Her name has also appeared on Forbes’ list of scientists making the greatest impact on innovation in women’s health and menopause.

In addition to her academic career, Dr Stanković works as a strategic consultant at AstraZeneca, where she contributes to the development of AI-driven strategies and advanced biomedical technologies for new therapies.

CIM Forum as a Place for Conversations About the Future

Over the past years, the CIM Forum has grown into one of the region’s most interesting platforms for conversations about creativity, media, technology, and social change.

The arrival of Dr Staša Stanković further confirms that the festival increasingly blurs the boundaries between industries and opens space for discussions that directly influence the future of humanity.

At a time when medicine, science, and technology are evolving faster than ever before, conversations about how these changes shape society are becoming just as important as the innovations themselves.

That is precisely why her appearance in Kotor will be a rare opportunity for audiences to hear firsthand how artificial intelligence, genomics, and modern medicine can help create a more humane, healthier, and sustainable future.

More information about the festival program is available on the CIM Forum website.
