"BAJKA": A Peaceful Oasis Reached Only by Boat

[object Object]

A wooden floating cabin on Lake Drina, aptly named "Bajka" (Fairytale), is located in the village of Međeđa, just a short drive from Višegrad. Offering complete privacy and tranquility, it is the perfect retreat for sunbathing, swimming, barbecuing, and simply unwinding - far from crowds and unwanted visitors. Its most distinctive feature is that it can be reached only by boat.

The floating cabin is the result of a year-long project by married couple Bojana and Saša Racković. After completing its construction, they transported it to its current location, assembled it piece by piece, carefully furnished it, and turned it into the peaceful haven they named "Bajka."

"The floating cabin is not connected to the shore, yet it has everything you need - electricity, heating, drinking water, internet, and television. It can be enjoyed throughout the year. Right above the water, there is a spacious terrace with sun loungers, a modern living room and kitchen, while upstairs you'll find a bedroom overlooking Lake Drina. We can accommodate up to five guests," Bojana Racković, the owner, told HEDONIST Magazine.

Guests reach Bajka via the Sarajevo-Višegrad highway, where private parking is provided. Saša personally welcomes visitors and, unless they prefer to operate the boat themselves, ferries them across the lake to the floating cabin.

But no true host would let guests leave without enjoying good food.

"I'm a professional butcher, and I'm always happy to prepare traditional meals under the sač (a cast-iron dome) or a barbecue using carefully selected meat. If guests prefer cooking on their own, all the necessary equipment is available on the terrace," Saša told our magazine.

For those who simply want to relax without worrying about meal preparation, food and drinks can be delivered directly from the nearby Jaz Summer Garden restaurant.

Behind the floating cabin lies a peaceful forest, also accessible only by boat. The Racković family has created a walking trail with benches where guests can enjoy the cool shade of the trees and the beauty of the Drina River.

They also organize guided boat tours around the lake, allowing visitors to discover the surrounding landscape from the water. Safety is a priority, so certified life jackets are provided for every guest.
