When Fashion Takes to the Street, the City Becomes the Runway

Fashion works best the moment it stops being just what we wear and becomes part of the space we live in. That's when the street stops being just a street and turns into a stage, and the audience becomes part of the event itself. That's exactly the idea behind Elite Fashion Connection, which will turn Banja Luka into an open-air fashion scene on September 12th.
Instead of a conventional hall or an indoor venue, the show will take place right in the heart of the city, on the Parkić promenade, where a runway roughly 130 metres long will stretch from the historic Milanović House to the Banski Dvor. On that unusual urban runway, different fashion sensibilities and generations of designers will meet. Banja Luka labels ELANI Fashion, Dama kao mama, and Melanija Design will take part, alongside Croatia's Femenina by Isidora and Serbia's Jezdimiro, with more names set to join the evening's programme. The collections will range from elegant, glamorous silhouettes to children's fashion and contemporary designer work, showing just how many different voices can fit under one fashion story.
A standout segment of the evening will be RE-KOD, a fashion performance exploring how tradition can find new life through contemporary design. It centres on the Zmijanje heritage, translating its ornamentation, symbolism, and visual language into present-day fashion. Rather than preserving tradition as it is, RE-KOD treats it as raw material for new interpretation. In that fusion of local heritage and contemporary fashion lies one of the most compelling ideas behind the event: proving that cultural heritage doesn't have to stay locked away in museums and archives to be preserved. Sometimes all it takes is changing the way we look at it.
Behind the event is E'Couture Models Agency, led by Žana Bjelinić. For one night, Banja Luka gets a runway built for more than fashion alone - one that ties together architecture, design, tradition, models, and an audience in a space thousands of people walk through every single day.
Elite Fashion Connection takes place on September 12th at 6 PM on the Parkić Promenade in Banja Luka.
