Republika Srpska offers adventure in all its forms, and rock climbing is certainly one of them, thanks to its remarkable nature, striking rock formations, and breathtaking landscapes, which together provide a truly unforgettable experience. Among the most popular destinations for this kind of adrenaline-filled activity are Kozara National Park and the Red Cliffs of Romanija.
A special attraction on these routes is the via ferrata.
A via ferrata is a protected climbing route that allows you to traverse otherwise inaccessible sections of mountain terrain using steel cables and metal rungs. It is suitable for both experienced climbers and people of average physical fitness who are not actively engaged in mountaineering, provided that proper equipment is used.

The via ferrata is an “iron path” leading to the summit of Red Cliff (1,423 m) in the western part of Romanija, between Ravna Romanija and Pale.
In just one year since its opening, the Via Ferrata “Sokolov Path” on the Red Cliffs—one of the highest peaks of Romanija—has attracted hundreds of climbers from the country, the region, and beyond. This adrenaline-driven attraction appeals to those who enjoy challenging, physically demanding mountain routes.

The “Sokolov Path” ferrata is a secured climbing route, a true “steel path,” equipped with cables and climbing aids, where the use of a ferrata set is mandatory. Stretching 350 meters in length and featuring two suspension bridges, it is unique in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.
Access to the route is free of charge, but those without their own ferrata equipment (helmet, harness, and absorber) can rent it from the Jahorina Tourist Organization or at the “Crvene stijene” mountain lodge.
Kozara is another location perfectly suited for climbing adventures. Among the many offerings of Kozara National Park, the hiking trail Rajkovići – Kotlovača Mountain Lodge – Bijeli kamen – Zečiji kamen stands out, with a total length of 4.2 kilometers.

“Zečiji kamen” offers a true adrenaline rush for enthusiasts. With a nearby waterfall and stunning views, this location is a unique attraction. It also features a via ferrata—26 meters long—located on the rock face of Bijeli kamen.
This is the first route of its kind in the region, offering visitors a combination of excitement, adventure, and scenic beauty—all in a safe and controlled environment.
